Style Crush: Lupita Nyong' O

As mentioned in my beauty post from last week, I am in love with Lupita Nyong'O's flexibility when it comes to lipstick. Beyond that, I am completely in love with her modest, feminine and simple personal style. Since entering the spotlight, the media has highlighted Nyong'O's versatility when it comes to colors. She isn't afraid to dare the audience with a bright hue or a muted color. Everything looks great against her complexion. The following are my personal favorite Lupita Nyong'O style moments.

How about these boss shorts?

She even makes the itty bitty white bikini look like classic and timeless! You go girl!

80s Movie Inspiration

If you know me, you know that I am in love with 80s movies. John Hughes' movies are my all time favorite!! From these movies, I have gained a little inspiration in regards to my personal style.

Pretty in Pink

Molly Ringwald - Pretty in Pink - Iconic Prom Dresses

I love Andie's quirky style and the mix of rosy hues, lace and floral prints in her wardrobe. Her ability to create her own clothes and make unique outfits on a tight budget is really an inspiration!

I love Claire's simplicity and dainty jewelry!
Say Anything

The iconic white summery dress Diane Court wears to her first high school party proves that elegance can still be retained even in an environment that repels it!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Despite the masculine cut of Sloane's clothing, she is able to hold onto her femininity with her breezy hair and muted red lipstick.

Spectacular Spectacles

It may be because I have a phobia of touching my eyes, or even looking at someone touch their own eyes; but, regardless I refuse to get contacts. This doesn't phase me as much as it phases others. I think my glasses contribute to how I present myself and they makeup an aspect of my overall appearance. Without my glasses, I look like an entirely different (and weird) person.

The following are images of some pretty cool, and elegant spectacles! I think they're a versatile accessory to any look!
Need new glasses. Funny how this "nerd" look took off b/c as a teenager I wanted the thick rims but had THE HARDEST time finding them now they are everywhere.

This frame is identical to Robert Roope's Black Eyewear Cats Eye Glasses Peggy LT and Anita LT. Absolutely gorgeous!

I love the whole cat-eye look of these frames. It's very mod! It really reminds me of the sun glasses Frenchy wears in my all time favorite movie, Grease!

shoesshoesshoes

For me, it's more about comfort than style when it comes to shoes. I know! It may seem a bit odd coming from a fashion blog, but I can't stand blisters or cuts. I would rather wear a comfy pair of TOMS than a pair of cute flats that dig into my heel.

However, I LOVE to look at shoe editorials because I am able to live vicariously through the model hiking around in the strappy, five inch heels. Here is a collection of my favs!

Summer Makeup Hues

Alongside fashion, I love makeup and hair! These two components transition with the coming summer months. Dark, berry lips turn into vibrant corals. Switch out the matte winter look for the dewy warm glow. For me, at least, the only think that remains the same is the delicate black eyeliner and mascara!

Last but not least, what's a beauty post without a little bit of Lupita Nyong'o's signature bright lipstick!? She truly is a beauty inspiration.

Textiles and Prints- Inspiration

I just wanted to post a collection of fabrics and prints that inspire me. I love anything lace, floral or delicately detailed. Sometimes, I like to be spontaneous and add a splash of bright hues. Over all, to me it's the simple characteristics that make garments special.

Outlining the Basics

Woo! This blog will serve as my inspiration board.

As we enter the summer months, my wardrobe shifts into dresses, skirts and shorts galore. I think it's important to maintain comfort, versatility and a hint of feminine flairs, despite the scorching weather. The following images will give my readers a taste of what my personal style includes!

Passon for fashion: Fashion T
A well structured LWD is always a great summer staple.

neon & patterned shorts
Printed cotton shorts paired with simple tees create elegant, yet wearable outfits!

These are a pair of floral shorts I bought from Target last summer. They were a part of a special edition Prabal Gurang for Target collection. Even though they were six sizes too big, I bought them on clearance and had my grandma help alter them!
